Event Description

North America's largest bicycle trade event and show, held annually in Las Vegas at the Sands Convention Centre.

The event kicks off with demo days in which attendees can get to grips with new bike gear ahead of the main event. The Outdoor Demo Days run September 17th and 18th in 2012.

Interbike 2011 attracted 23,000 total attendees and 1,200-plus exhibiting brands. Preliminary attendance numbers show nearly 4,000 unique stores represented at the show and the total number of buyers at more than 11,000. International buyer attendance from outside the United State was more than 1,300.

More than 550 journalists and bloggers attended Interbike, including journalists from publications such as Consumer Reports, Outside Magazine, ESPN, Wired Magazine, Mashable.com, The Huffington Post, Playboy and MSNBC. More here.

In December '11 Interbike announced show director Andy Tompkins will be leaving the company Interbike’s parent company, Nielsen. He has been Interbike's show director for four years. Interbike’s managing director Pat Hus has now be charged with leading the show team. In addition, Interbike – staged annually in Las Vegas – will be adding two supporting staff positions to its marketing and sales teams. There's more on that story here.
