The self-styled 'future of cycling media events' invites a handful of the world's best known cycle journalists and bicycle industry manufacturers to the Deer Valley Resort giving the media chance to try out the latest bike and cycle product, rather than view new product in an exhibition hall. Comprehensive product testing of 2013 cycling gear is promised for the 2012 event.
The third annual staging of PressCamp has kicked off in America, with 28 writers being accommodated in the world-famous Stein Eriksen lodge in the Deer Valley resort, 40 minutes from Salt Lake City in Utah.
Across the way 26 brands have set up shop in condos, ready to meet and greet the writers, all of whom are guaranteed plenty of facetime, something they don't always get at trade shows.
Writers signed up for 40 minute slots with brands at dinner tonight.
As well as editors and journalists from leading magazines and blogs (and a podcast) there are writers from non-endemic titles such as Outside, Wired and Popular Science.
