Latest junior entry level cycle – ST-3 – is ten per cent lighter than predecessor
Strider has released a new edition of its balance bike – the ST-3.
Pitched at junior entry level cycling, the ST-3 is ten per cent lighter than Strider's original PREbike as well as being more comfortable and adding functionality and design, the firm said.
The ST-3 retails at £84.99, and comes in red, yellow, pink, green, orange and blue.
Over 200,000 original Strider PREbikes sold last year in 35 countries.
Strider is distributed by Melrose Kids. Director Melanie Thomas said: “The launch of the ST-3 in the UK is another exciting development in the world of balance bike technology. We’re hoping that this will help encourage more youngsters to get on two wheels – and ultimately feed the growing passion for cycling in the UK.

“Research has shown that it can be counter-productive to teach a young child to rely on stabilisers when they first make the move to a two-wheeler. It really doesn’t give them the chance to learn how to balance properly. Strider’s ST-3 with its lightweight and robust design can help make that transition much easier by teaching balance at a much younger age.”
ST-3’s new Strider Ultra-Light Wheels, the EVA Polymer tyre, a light-weight frame and redesigned accessories mean the Strider ST-3 is 2.9 kg – a saving of almost ten per cent on the original Strider PREbike. The balance bike also features new toddler sized Mini-Grip, Handlebars and Mini-Saddle redesigned to better cater for a toddler’s size and riding position.

0 0These really are great bikes for kids to learn balance on, a much better alternative to training wheels. The adjustable seat and handlebars are another good feature as your kids grow out of bikes so fast. They also feature solid rubber tyres so you don't have to worry about punctures.
