No more hammering a headset race onto the fork

Odyssey has worked the lower race onto its new line of 41 thermal race forks.
The added feature will work with all integrated headsets, and will also work with normal headsets that have a 45-degree lower raceway.

The time saving feature is now available on the Race Fork Classic and will soon follow on the Director Forks, Freestyle forks and Flatland specific models.

The 41- thermal fork series, from odyssey, was the first BMX fork to offer a lifetime warranty, which is continued on all new models.

In other odyssey news, clear plastic pedals are due to be available soon as well as the much-anticipated 'Electronical' DVD. Call IMG distribution, on 01243 268075 for more information.

Another solution to a problem that didn't really exist in the first place...

Super... unless it gets pitted or damaged...
mind you - I guess it's no worse than the frames being made that way too...
(It does limit the fork's use to Integrated frames only though. -doesn't it ??.)

“Throw away society”

My last steel bike (broke just last week) lasted 23 years and probably went through at least 1/2 dozen headsets. I would hate to have to have had to buy 1/2 dozen new forks and get them painted. Not only a pain to do but a waste of world resources. I object to the short term thinking of the disposable society & will be sticking to non integrated headsets (and long lasting, more comfortable, steel frames.)

Note that the lower race is a "guide" for the real bearing race, not like a loose ball retainer race of the past; The integrated headsets only "sit" on teh lower race, they do not rool on it, so teh impact of a bad headset is minimal. This should last the life of the fork.
