The plug has been pulled on the leisure cycling magazine from Kelsey Publishing. The current issue - with a March date - is the last.
Kelsey Publishing sells a surprising number of copies of its tractor and poultry magazines but was unable to gain a foothold in the cycle market despite spending tens of thousands of pounds with WH Smith's to gain news-stand space.
Enjoy Your Bike's freelance editor Ian Cushway said:
"It's a shame we couldn't get past our first year. The closure of the mag came as a complete shock.
Lots of advertisers really liked the magazine.
"Readers loved the mag too but there weren't enough copy sales to keep the magazine going through the winter months. Not enough people were exposed to the magazine."
Cushway is now seeking to become a 'leisure cycling consultant'.
