Interbike's Outdoor Demo is HUGE

BikeBiz took a video camera and sneaked a peak at Demo...

...and can confirm the show is a belter, in more ways than one.

Much of last year's Outdoor Demo area has been landscaped, with more rock gardens and a lot more tarmac for the roadies.

The show starts later today but here's a YouTube video of the riding and schmoozing happening on the Sunday.

Storck had yet to display their bikes but we bumped into the crew at the Las Vegas car rental depot. The German company is to unveil a bike not seen at Eurobike. The Absolutist frame weighs 980g.

The monocoque frame has ultra oversized chain-stays with 46mm height, unique proportional tubing geometry and a stiffer and even lighter mono-stay rear end than other Storck frames.

The Absolutist frame-set, build in a 3K carbon fibre, will be available from spring 2008 in the sizes 51, 55, 57, 59 and 63cm.

On the Spot booth, there was lots of interest from fellow exhibitors in the company's belt drive bikes. All 30 for testing at the demo are singlespeeds but geared versions are in development. Spot uses a 11mm Poly Chain belt, Orange uses an 8mm Poly Chain belt: both belts are made by the Gates Corporation.
