Elden Nelson - aka the Fat Cyclist of the US - won the 'best sports blog' category of the 2008 Bloggies
Nelson said: "I’m not going to pretend that it’s not a big deal to me to have won one of the 2008 Bloggies. I campaigned relentlessly for it, including negative ads and misleading press releases."
BikeBiz readers also helped him on his way by voting for him on the Bloggies website following stories on BikeBiz.com.
"Now I’d like to say “Thanks," said Nelson.

It's strictly a popularity contest; interesting that one of the other five nominees was also a cycling site ("up in alaska"). Cyclists are, perchance, of the geekier sports fans?
