The UCI Mountain Bike World Cup at Fort William has been named the Scottish sporting event of the year.
Organising company Rare Management won ahead of Barclay's Scottish Open golf and windsurfing's Tiree Wave Classic in windsurfing.
Rare's Mike Jardine said:
"The award is great recognition as we start the build-up to the biggest, the most important and the best mountain bike event in the world, the World Championships, next year.
"The 2007 World Championships are likely to be at least twice as big as the World Cup in terms of spectators and competitors, with live global TV coverage. We've got such a good team and the spectator support is so strong that I'm sure Fort William will once again deliver."
UCI World Championships, September 3rd-9th 2007.
