Evans Cycles has signed a salary-sacrifice bike-buying scheme contract with London's Metropolitan Police. The Evans Cycle To Work scheme is called Ride2Work.

40,000 Metropolitan Police workers are now entitled to a Cycle to Work tax break that typically nets a bike discount of 38-45  per cent.

The Evans cycles Ride2Work programme is a development of the government-backed Cycle To Work scheme. The official C2W primer can be found by clicking here

Martin Tiplady, director of human resources at the Met, said: "This partnership with Evans Cycles demonstrates our commitment to environmental issues by offering facilities that help to ease congestion and reduce the emission of greenhouse gases."

The Metropolitan Police workers join 773 other organisations already taking advantage of Evans Cycles’ Ride2Work, which include the Volkswagen Group, and McGraw-Hill.

Evans Cycles' MD said: "The Ride2Work programme has been successful in getting some big organisations to think more about green issues and how to tackle them.”
