Merry and Bickerton voted on to BA council

Russell Merry and Mark Bickerton were supposed to be up against each other to bag the Bicycle Association council position, but the votes cast by members were almost equal so positions have been made available for both.
BA president Phillip Darnton said:
"With the retirement of John Moore at the forthcoming AGM in April, there was nominally one vacancy on the BA Council.
"Two nominations for this vacancy were received – Mark Bickerton of Cyclemotion and Russell Merry of Hot Wheels. Voting closed on February 19th with both members receiving a very similar total of supporting votes. Council decided that, under the circumstances, both Mark Bickerton and Russell Merry should be invited to join the Council.
"There will be a number of key issues over the next 18 months with regard to safeguarding and strengthening the future of the Association and it is therefore very appropriate that two members who have received such substantial support should play a full part in those discussions and decisions."
