Schwalbe's stable of fantastically-named tyres is joined by 295g of fast rubber
Schwalbe says the new Furious Fred - to be seen for the first time at Eurobike - is the "fastest MTB tyre of all time."
It joins Racing Ralph and Nobby Nic in a new, '3-tires-race-system'. This is all about shuffling the combination of tyres depending on the conditions.
The 2008 Nobby Nic 2.1 weighs 625g compared to 710g for this year's version.
The 695g Racing Ralph shaves off 95g.
There are seven new versions of the Muddy Mary and three new versions of the Big Betty. Schwalbe is also going big on it's ice-stud tyres. There's a touring bike version and a new MTB spike tyre, the Ice Spiker Pro, available in a variety of sizes.
On the road side, the Ultremo inner tube for 2008 weighs just 49g.
