Light, tight and "revolutionary", Ayrxx is a development from Dow Fiber Solutions
Dow Fiber Solutions (DFS) is a business unit of the Dow Chemical Company, the global textile player.
Dow Ayrxx "directly addresses the limitations of traditional stretch fabrics for the sports apparel market in order to allow for greater performance through good dimensional stability and superior hand feel," said Cathy Knowles, Textile Innovations Manager at DFS.
The 100 percent polyolefin-based material is quick drying and highly breathable. It also boasts excellent longevity, shape retention and colour-fastness in addition to a soft hand-feel.
“Sportswear made with Dow Ayrxx fabric allows for optimal functionality and unprecedented performance during workout. Garments are light-weight – density allows best balance of coverage and weight – and very comfortable, providing an incredible fit in motion for the ultimate workout experience,” said Michel Caillibotte, Global Brand Manager at DFS.
"We were particularly happy that it was Diadora who chose to launch Dow Ayrxx fabrics into the cycling segment with us because we wanted to ensure that this revolutionary technology would be coupled with a dynamic and innovative sports brand.”
Diadora’s Cycling Collection with Dow Ayrxx consists of men’s long and short sleeved undershirts, cycling jerseys and shorts in premium cuts.
Enrico Mambelli, CEO of Diadora said:
“This cycling apparel line demonstrates our commitment to innovation, delivering industry-first and differentiated products and will take our competitive cycling line to a whole new level. Athletes can now enjoy cycling garments with no-compromise performance, ride after ride."
The Diadora Cycling Collection is set to launch globally in February.
