"Rate cut could drive bike company" is a BBC.co.uk news headline featuring Hope Technology

"The firm is up against many challengers from Taiwan," says a caption on a photo of Hope co-founder Ian Weatherill.

"Sales in Europe have increased 30 percent in the past 12 months, and the exchange rate is helping push it along," Weatherill told the BBC news site.

"We're the only company outside of Taiwan making disc brakes for bikes.

The extra sales we get thanks to the exchange rate enables us to get more money to invest in machinery and staff, so we can make more product - it's a perpetual thing."

BBC News filmed at Hope Technology yesterday and footage could appear on the main news programmes tonight.
