The Dutch Tourist Board wants to give Cameron a Dutch-style roadster
The Dutch Tourist Board would like to donate a brand new self-locking Dutch bicycle as a replacement for David Cameron’s bicycle that was stolen in London on Wednesday evening.
The Conservative leader said he left his bicycle locked to a bollard outside a supermarket in West London while he shopped for salad. On leaving the store, David Cameron discovered his bicycle, which he described as an "old friend", had been stolen.
[He should have read this article on how to thwart bike thieves and, according to the CTC, he should have 'Bike to Work' cycle and get-you-home-if-your-bike-is-nicked insurance].
Throughout Holland, travelling by bicycle is the norm. 16 million people own approximately 12 million bicycles and the Dutch use the bicycle as a regular means of transportation.

Returning to the theft of his trusty bicycle ..... I think there are 2 possibilities:
As Mr Cameron was busy getting his shopping from Tesco, he could not give the loitering hoodie a hug. Feeling dejected this poor mis-understood youth then decided to take the bike as an alternative - it must be remembered that 'hoodies need to be loved - not locked up!
OR......
The Canadian IBD has gone 'International' whilst he is on bail!

Get him up to date and in with the London single speed community.
I suggest the Pearson 'Tory blue' Touche single speed, courier bag (no more M&S plastic carriers) and all the street cred a politicain can ever wish for!

I read on The Londonist that he stood there in shock mumbling 'my bike's been stolen' repeatedly while pacing around...
Since he's sure to become PM eventually, we'd all better hope his reactions to crisis are a bit more tuned up by then...

In the Netherlands last year the Dutch take up of this easy to use green transport doubled and now accounts for 6% of all bikes sold. British electric bikes are coming into there own and top spec Li-Poly powered electric cycles can be acquired for £599..
