Alongside Nike, Reebok, adidas and Russell Athletic in the first list of 40 sport 'super brands' are Animal, Howies, Science in Sport and Shimano. They joined the pantheon of greats at a glittering ceremony in London.
The Sport BrandLeaders Tribute Event took place in conjunction with the Sport Industry Awards at the Old Truman Brewery, Brick Lane on 22nd February.There was an MTB demo from Animal, a virtual golf simulator from TaylorMade and the chance to play darts with Eric Bristow courtesy of Harrows Darts (Peter Slater of Science in Sport lost by just one dart...)
Superbrands promotes the "discipline of branding and pays tribute to exceptional brands" through programmes in 43 countries.
It grants Superbrand and BrandLeader status to brands considered to warrant those awards by independent and voluntary councils of experts.
