The sports nutrition pioneer Science in Sport will enter into a full partnership with British Cycling.

The new four-year partnership – which begins this month – will see Great British Cycling Team riders and British Cycling members benefit from the knowledge and expertise presented by the SiS team.

SiS will work directly with team GB athletes in order to create bespoke nutritional strategies which will fuel them ahead of key competitions throughout the next four-year cycle; the strategies will also be implemented in the lead-up to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and Paralympics.

Double Olympic champion and current Team GB rider Philip Hindes commented: “Nutrition is vital in cycling; you can’t perform if you don’t look after how you fuel and recover for each session. SiS will be integral to helping us achieve success and maintaining our edge on the world stage.

British Cycling’s chief operating officer Jamie Obank added: “We are delighted to confirm this partnership with SiS, who are known as experts in their field. Having them on board is excellent news for all involved with British Cycling.

“This new link-up will benefit the Great Britain Cycling Team – giving our elite riders the opportunity to work alongside SiS to tailor their own nutritional strategies – and also British Cycling members, who will receive exclusive benefits themselves.

“At British Cycling, we pride ourselves on giving our riders the best possible chance to fulfill their potential and ensure that the success we have enjoyed in recent years continues. We are confident that the partnership with SiS will do just that; we are looking forward to working alongside them.”
