Following the recent renovations to Cambridge cycling mainstay and key community shop Cycle King, retail operations manager Darren Hunt has confirmed that the shop is now fully operational once again.

A temporary pop-up store was opened as a temporary measure, offering a range of 250 bikes, with a further 250 available to customer within a few hours.

“We re-opened our doors on Saturday - two days earlier than planned with a newly refitted store in Cambridge,” commented Hunt. “The temporary shop turned out to be a great success in maintaining our service levels to our customers and actually grew sales during this period - it shows our commitment to local our community to maintain great service is appreciated by our customers.”

He continued: “We managed to increase the number of cycles on display to over 450 cycles – all of which were ready to ride away – and introduce a number of new concepts. 

“We are keen to bring in a much easier shopping experience with a ‘shop within a shop’ feel offering clearly defined areas for each range, new BMX area and clothing area. The shop now comprises of a racetrack-styled floor, so that it will make orientating the store much easier and also offer the chance to test out a bike - especially around the children’s bikes.”
