Upper Street Events exhibition breaks through 25,000 visitors over four days of show (audit pending)

Organisers of the Cycle Show, Upper Street Events, have this morning told BikeBiz that over 25,000 passed through the exhibition's doors over the four days of show.

Pending an audit, the early indications are that 25,058 people made the journey to the NEC, a 30 per cent rise over last year's figures.

Upper Street Events told BikeBiz: "It was our busiest ever Cycle Show with records numbers attending, both trade and consumer, and the best ever line up of Cycling celebrities."

Dates for next year's exhibition at the NEC, Birmingham are confirmed as 26th to 29th September, 2013.

As a side note, the pro BMX competition saw some world firsts landed and is rounded up in this video by Ride UK, here.

The increased Visitor figures made a significant and welcome improvement to the number of enquiries taken and orders placed. 2012 was the fifth consecutive CycleUK that we at Wisper Electric Bikes have been exhibitors and was by far the best. The move from London's Earls Courts really seems to have paid off although we met less overseas visitors than at the London shows. The most exciting change this year was in the newly positive attitude of many IBD's towards Electric bikes. This may be because of the massive improvements we have seen over the last couple of years in build quality. However I believe the market in the UK is now becoming customer driven as more and more people ask at their local bike shop for electric bike details. 1 in 5 of ALL bikes sold in Holland representing nearly half new cycle revenue in 12 months to August 2012 were electric bikes, surely this proves there is a demand all we now need to do is fulfill it!
