In probably one of the most unexpected brand pairings of the year, Dahon has teamed up with Superman – via Warner Bros – for a promotion for the studio's latest DVD, Superman vs the Elite.
The marketing campaign – which will also see the folding bike brand back Warner Bros' Dr. Seuss’s Green Eggs and Ham and Other Stories – will run across television, print and online media this summer.
A 'sweepstakes for Superman vs. the Elite' launched at the beginning of this month, where grand prize winners will take home Dahon’s revolutionary new Jifo. Dr. Seuss competition winners will bag a compact Curve D3 from Dahon.
Sadly the Superman (and Dr Seuss) promo will only be running in the US, but could this be pave the way for some UK promotions linking superheroes to bike brands? Batman and Brompton, or Spider-Man and Specialized maybe?
Not content to team up with superheros and children's classics, Dahon has also paired up with Motley Crew lead bass guitarist Nikki Sixx. Sixx will give away ten Mu P8 folding bikes to callers to his US radio show later this month.Article continues below
Meanwhile in Belgium, Dahon is collaborating with toothpaste brand Colgate to give away a Dahon Eco C7 as part of a sweepstakes drawing to help raise awareness for the importance of oral hygiene.
