From January, Falcon Cycles is to restructure its business and to be known solely as Claud Butler.
Upgrades are also due to take place at the large scale Scunthorpe warehouse, however, the Brigg site will close.
From January 1st, existing trade with the major High Street retailers and mail order accounts involving the Falcon, Townsend, Boss, Elswick, British Eagle and Zombie brands will be transferred to sister company, MV Sports in Castle Bromwich. Claud Butler, CBR, Holdsworth and Scorpion will be wholly focused on the independent dealer.
MV Sports already has a large turnover with High Street and Internet Multiples and will integrate the existing Falcon ranges into its current portfolio of licensed product in sports and outdoor play.
MD of Falcon Cycles, Steven Bell, told BikeBiz: “This change will be welcomed by suppliers and customers alike, the new Claud Butler operation will work out of one site and be completely dedicated to developing its business in the Independent sector without the distraction that multiple distribution channel sales bring. To assist with the continued development of the new operation, I am delighted to announce that Dave Heath-Drury, Phil Haveron and Mark Johnson will become directors of the new Claud Butler business from 1st January 2013.”Article continues below
Detailed discussions about the effects of these changes on staff, customers and suppliers will take place over the next few weeks.
