Five things to see at the Cycle Show 2017

Has it really been a whole year since the Cycle Show rolled into Birmingham’s NEC? With just one week to go until the big event takes place, we’re taking a look at five awesome things to check out if you’re planning on attending the 2017 edition of the event.

1. Trade day
Did you know that the Cycle Show has a completely dedicated trade day? Not only that, but its proudly sponsored by BikeBiz!  The trade day presents the unique opportunity to discuss all of the latest releases with the experts at your own pace, and hopefully gain a greater understanding of the products you’re going to be promoting for the next season. This year the trade day falls on the 21st, so make sure you get yourself signed up if you want the luxury of taking in all the sights and sounds without having to tackle the crowds.

2. The Bosch test track
The Cycle Show has once again teamed up with Bosch to create the UK’s first indoor e-MTB track. At the track, guests are invites to discover whether the hype surrounding e-bikes is justified. The track is being constructed inside the NEC by UK track builder Kye Forte using over 400 tons of earth, along with wooden sections and banked corners from Shoretrax. The track features a big corner ramp where riders will be able to test the climbing power of bikes from brands such as Cube and Haibike, plus a moguls section and a tricky rock garden to navigate through.

3. The Wattbike stage
Born out of an obsession with performance and developed in partnership with British Cycling, Wattbike has been at the forefront of cycling technology and training methodology from the very start. In this year’s Cycle Show, Wattbike will be bringing its obsession to life with thought-leading experts and world-renowned ambassadors taking to the stage to discuss hot topics – including the benefits of training with power and pedalling technique. If you are as obsessed about performance and making every pedal stroke count, you’ll want to check out The Wattbike Stage and visit Wattbike on stand D47.

4. The Islabikes demo track
The Islabikes test track will make an appearance at the 2017 show, allowing the younger members of the crowd to have some fun and try out the Islabike range.  The brand will be bringing all the key classics in the range, along with a full lineup of Pro Series bikes. Customer service advisors will also be on hand to answer any questions you might have and to offer advice on maximising your child’s enjoyment of cycling. “We are excited to have our full range of lightweight, proportionately designed children’s bikes available for demo on the Islabikes test track,” commented a representative of the brand.

5. The Pirelli Supercrit
A special addition to this year’s show is the Pirelli Supercrit Race, with men’s and women’s elite races taking place on the afternoon of Saturday, September 23rd. Enjoy an afternoon of bikes, burgers and beers as you watch 100+ elite riders taking to the Pirelli Supercrit track, with an elite women’s and men’s race running from 3pm. Crit spectators will also be treated to Vifit Sport samples at the Supercrit and can learn more about nutrition and hydration throughout the course of the show with Inkospor.

As always, the show will present the chance to see the biggest brands in the industry and witness the latest and greatest products. This year dealers are able to meet over 30 different e-bike brands under one roof in the Shimano Steps eBike Village, where the chance to test ride over 100  bikes is on offer.

The Cycle Show is the UK’s biggest industry event, hosted at the NEC arena in Birmingham from September 22nd to the 24th. It typically attracts more than 27,000 visitors over the three days with the biggest brands showcasing their latest and greatest products. To register for the trade and press day, click here.
