Robrady's folding e-bike wins gold at the 2009 Spark Awards. Bike and designer were with BikeBiz on Interbike TV.

Robrady Design of the US has been awarded a Gold Spark award in the Mobility category of this year's competition for its db0 Electric Folding Bike design.

The bike was designed for Taiwanese manufacturer DK City. It is scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2010, and will be the first in a series of electric bikes from DK City.

The db0 bike design is currently being featured at the Autodesk Design Gallery in San Francisco as part of the Spark Awards show.

The Spark Awards is a global design competition that was started in 2001. The focus of the competition is recognizing change: 'designed change'. Spark definse 'designed change' as change for the better: "studied, researched, cognizant of criteria like sustainability, suitability, context, inventiveness, process, universality--and yes, beauty."

The bike was featured in a half-hour TV show filmed at Interbike. BikeBiz executive editor Carlton Reid was joined in the Interbike TV Media Center by e-bike guru Ed Benjamin of consultancy Benjamin Consulting, founder of the Light Electric Vehicle Association; David Cabanban, Sanyo's North America Business Development Manager for the Eneloop Bike project; and designer Robert Brady, CEO of Robrady Design. A video of the show is on YouTube.
