The bikes-n-carparts store is finally getting round to having an online presence. Its had a holding page for ages but, sometime soon, www.halfords.com launches on an unsuspecting world

IBDs and pure play bike retailers can breathe a sigh of relief, the Halfords site is not going to be an all-singing, all-dancing e-commerce category killer. The Boots The Chemist owned company is rolling out a relatively plain site to test the waters.

Lindsey Walker, Halfords marketing director, told BikeBiz not to expect big things with the site to begin with:

The plan is to launch a small on line store at the beginning of June in conjunction with a third party. However this will not include bikes.
