Reports surface over disrupted supplies following opening of new distribution centre
Halfords stores up and down the country are facing disrupted supplies due to changes in the retailer's distribution chain, according to a report in the Daily Mail.
Ahead of the August Bank Holiday weekend anonymous store managers have said that deliveries are arriving with stock missing, impacting on sales and disappointing customers.
The retailer has recently moved distribution from its Oxford and Redditch delivery centres to a new 320,000 sq ft distribution centre in Coventry, which opened in July.
The reports suggest the move has faced teething problems, creating the problems faced by a number of stores.
One manager told the Mail: “Some lorries are turning up missing a third of our stock. It has seen sales nosedive.”

Another store manager added: “We've been having issues for about a month now but I hear the problems are affecting stores across the country. We're getting deliveries of about half what we should and it's leaving shelves empty.”
