The children's bike market looks set for an uplift over the coming years with a boom in UK babies
While the sector is amongst the most competitive in the trade, the children’s bike market is set to receive a significant uplift in the near future.
The latest figures from the Office for National Statistics (reported by the BBC) have revealed that the UK population increased more last year than at any time in the last 50 years.
The growth rate is the highest since the so-called 'baby boom' period in the early 1960s. There were 797,000 births in the UK to mid 2010, the highest number of births seen on these shores since 1991.
