Thieves steal electric bikes from Justebikes, but forget the chargers

Justebikes' new Portobello Road, London store broken into before it has opened

Justebikes' new Portobello Road, London, store was burgled last week on Tuesday night (September 25th).

A significant number of electric bikes were stolen, including Koga E-Extensions, Sparta RX+ Stepthroughs, Sparta RXS stepthroughs, Haibike RX FS 48cm, Haibike RC 50cm, Haibike Trekking low-step and Haibike Trekking cross-bar.

Not only did the thieves neglect to take chargers for all the bikes, but none of the bikes have been registered so the Kogas and Spartas will stop working in 50km.

Justebikes' Portobello has not officially opened - it will be throwing open its doors on October 9th. This meant that the haul could have been far worse as the shop was only partially stocked.

James, Welcome to London. About 3 years ago we had 30 e-bikes stolen from our West London warehouse. An inbuilt tracker led the police to the bikes. A second floor 2 bedroom council flat, about 2 miles away. The Somali asylum seeker tenants denied all knowledge, saying a friend had left the bikes with them. Also recovered at the same address were 25 laptop computers and more than 100 mobile phones. After appearing in court and being bailed to appear at a later hearing, surprise surprise they disappeared.
