Most times, innovations trickle down from pro riders to consumers but it was the other way round with Giro Prolight
The Giro Prolight was launched at this year's Tour de France. It featured a 'One-Step' fit system promoted at the time as a newly developed retention method.
However, it's now been revealed that the elasticated webbing system was designed first for childrens' helmets. Giro and Bell childrens' helmets will soon be available featuring 'One-Step'.
The 2010 Dart and Splash from Bell; and the Rascal and Spree from Giro will be equipped with ‘One-Step’. The retention system simplifies fitting a cycle helmet to a child’s head, doing away with multiple adjustment features.
The model pictured here also features two snap-on LEDs on the rear strapping.
