Guides make a comeback to meet growing demand

Travel guide publisher Lonely Planet has reintroduced its Cycle Guide books line-up after requests from the cycling community.

The firm said that the decision to bring the series back followed a growing demand from an increasingly large cycle scene.

A Lonely Planet spokesperson told BikeBiz: “Our cycling guides were brought back because they had a big following in cycling circles and we received regular requests for them.

“Cycling has really taken off as a leisure pursuit since we first launched the books so we thought it was time to bring them back. Lonely Planet is pretty passionate about cycling, earlier this year we had a team of staff and authors take part in the Tour d'Afrique.”

The firm confirmed that the guides aren’t just reprints: “The books are not just reissues, they're 100 per cent revised and updated versions.”
