Network Rail signs with Cyclescheme

UK's largest facilitator of C2W now linked with rail operator's 35,000 employees

Cyclescheme has secured a contract with Network Rail to offer the 35,000 employees of the nation's rail operator bikes on the Government discount scheme.

Daniel Gillborn, Head of Commercial Operations at Cyclescheme commented: “We are very proud to be working with Network Rail and this has given us the perfect opportunity to showcase the work we have been doing with the key brands and IBD's to secure business at this level. It has also been a good opportunity to demonstrate our seamless user experience including same day approvals, eCertificates and online redemption enabling our participants to go through the whole user experience all within 24 hours.”

Over 1,800 independnet bike shops work with Cyclescheme in the UK.

Ian Turner, reward and benefits manager at Network Rail commented: “Cyclescheme provide Network Rail employees with a wide range of cycles to lease from local independent stores through to larger retail outlets. The scheme will help promote our continued drive towards improving health and wellbeing within our workforce. We are looking forward to a succesful partnership with Cyclescheme.”

Cycle to work schemes became subject to VAT as on January 1st this year.

Lets just hope they don't want to put them on a train!!! (unfortunately a luxury on not many routes, especially commuting hours)

Perhaps the reason fares are going up again in January, is to fund the purchase of these bikes?
