Supermarket said to have paid nearly £1 million for six bikes
The Telegraph is reporting that Tesco has confronted Sports Direct over being charged nearly £1 million for just six bikes.
The six Muddy Fox bikes, ordered from Universal Cycles (majority owned by Sports Direct), were supposed to cost just £948, though a member of the supermarket's finance team mistakenly paid £948,000.
Sports Direct is said to have paid back £863,000, though Tesco is persuing the full amount, plus interest and legal fees.
According to the Telegraph article, Sports Direct are said not to have repayed the full amount in belief that it was owed £121,000 by the supermarket relating to previous transactions.
