"£90 for annual Boris Bike subscription? I only want to hire a bike, Boris, not buy one," tweets Evening Standard journo
London mayor Boris Johnson has announced he'll double 'Boris Bike' access charges. The daily charge will rise from £1 to £2. The weekly charge doubles to £10 and the annual sub will jump from £45 to £90.
Evening Standard reporter Ross Lydall tweeted:
"£90 for annual Borisbike subscription? I only want to hire a bike, Boris, not buy one."
Transport for London said: "The majority of cycle hire trips are made within the free 30 minute usage charge period and additional charges for late return, non return and bicycle damage will not increase."
