High-performance car brand lends name to bike range
Komba Bicycles has signed a deal to use the Tonino Lamborghini licence for an exclusive range of bikes.
The bikes, launching January 2010, will include models selling at between $200 and $600, with a small number of high-end carbon frames that will retail at $1,600.
The Lamborghini line-up – including road bikes, mountain bikes, folding bikes and parts, accessories and clothing – will be available in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. The Komba/Lamborghini bikes are not, however, on track to arrive on UK shores.
A spokesperson for the firm told BikeBiz: “At the moment, there are no plans for the Hong Kong based licensee to offer his product into Europe, but if they get a good reaction in their home market, Komda will certainly look to extend distribution into Europe if the opportunity is available when the current USA based licensee's deal finishes.”
