To be held indoor at the National Indoor Arena
The UCI has confirmed the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham as the venue for the 2012 BMX World Championships.
Jason Boness of Birmingham-based Reece Cycles commented: "This is going to be massive for Birmingam, especially as it's Olympic year for the UK too."
An announcement was also made regarding work that British Cycling was doing alongside the UCI on the launch of a training programme for coaches.
