Alan M Nordin has resigned as president of Fallbrook’s Bicycle Division, effective December 31 2012.
The move comes after eight years with Fallbrook Technologies, the firm behind the NuVinci continuously variable transmission for bicycles.
As part of Fallbrook’s growth, most employees are now located in Cedar Park, Texas. The company announced that it was closing the San Diego office where Nordin has been working, moving its corporate headquarters to Cedar Park.
Chairman and CEO William G. Klehm III said: "For personal reasons, Al has chosen not to relocate to Texas. A search for Al’s replacement is underway and in the interim, David Hancock, executive vice president, business units, will head the Bicycle Division. He added: "The number of bicycles and e-bikes offered with our NuVinci N360TM hub and/or our more recently announced NuVinci HarmonyTM auto shifting intelligent drivetrain has grown and continues to grow significantly. We are increasing our manufacturing capability to support that growth and believe that NuVinci technology is on its way to becoming a standard in several important segments of the bicycle market."
