Tomorrow night the 'Best Inventions' programme on BBC1 will feature three innovations that their inventors hope will be voted the winner by a studio audience. One of the three inventions is a bolt-on saddle to make a kid's bike into a recumbent

BBC prog will feature ‘instant recumbent’ attachment

The recumbent-attachment has been developed by Harry Mansfield. He wanted to create an add-on that could cheaply convert an ordinary bike into a laid-back one.

After three years of tinkering, he’s developed a a one piece unit with a reclined seat at one end, and pedals at the other. The unit fits on top of a existing bicycle and connects to the back wheel with an extended chain. It’s said to fit to any bike, and according to the BBC "gives you all the fun of a reclining bike without the cost of a production model."

This programme is a repeat. If you don’t want to know the results, look away now. The recumbent came last. A cat feeding bowl came first. See http://www.velovision.co.uk
