Two bike companies are featured on a BBC TV children's programme to air on 23rd April. Madison and Carradice will be shown helping two teams create kid-friendly bicycle bags.

Beat the bike bosses

The ‘Beat the Boss’ series pitches a team of three adult experts against a team of three bright kids. The teams have to design, develop and manufacture a product for children. The kids tend to know the subject matter – kids – better than than the adult entrepreneurs.

The bike bag prog airs at 5.30pm on 23rd April on the CBBC channel. Filming took place in January.

In this particular episode the teams were asked to design a bag that kids would use when cycling to and from school.

Madison was involved in developing the brief for the two teams, highlighting features required of a cycling bag and pointing out potentially dangerous features, such as iPod holders.

The designed bags were taken to the sample stages by Carradice of Nelson.

Madison MD Dominic Langan is seen in the programme listening to the pitches of the teams, reviewing their designs and offering some constructive criticism to allow them to tweak the designs before going in to production for the test models. Madison designer Robin Stannard was also captured on film bringing the designs to 3D life on his Mac.
