Bike rides, music, tea and cakes will form the Belfast celebration of the National Cycle Network’s 15th anniversary this Saturday.
Four separate rides will join in the Titanic Quarter of the city. After lunch the riders will head to the Science Park for tea and cake, wil music powered by Paddy Bloomer’s bike-powered ‘contraption’.
The Sustrans-organised celebrations are part of a number of events taking place to mark the NCN anniversary, a Network that aims to improve cycling facilities for the nation.
Patricia Wallace, volunteer and community liaison and coordinator for Sustrans Northern Ireland, said: “This is the perfect way to celebrate 15 years of the National Cycle Network by getting out on it and enjoying what it has to offer. These rides will take in some great paths and beautiful scenery and we hope everyone has a lot of fun.”
