Bicycle Association president explains why industry supports Bike Week

At today’s All Party Parliamentary Cycling Group bike ride in London – which kicks off Bike Week – Mark Bickerton, the president of the Bicycle Association explains why the Bike Hub levy fund gave £60,000 seed funding to secure the future of Bike Week.

In short, it’s because Cycling England was abolished by the Government and so, with no cash to carry on, there was a risk the promotion would be cancelled. With the cash support the event was later able to secure £200,000 from EDF energy.
