The addition to Bike Week was scheduled for 18th-22nd April but has now been put off until next year.

Bike to School Week postponed until 2006

"At last Friday’s meeting of the Bike Week Steering Group it was decided to postpone the launch of Bike to School Week until 2006, to allow more time for preparations to be made for this new dedicated ‘focus week’," said Bike Week organiser Nick Harvey.

"Efforts will continue to secure commercial and other funding for this important new initiative, that is aimed to complement and support the Government’s investment in Safe Routes to Schools."

The steering group consists of 16 organisations: Association of Cycle Traders, Association for Commuter Transport, Bicycle Association, British Cycling, British Schools Cycling Association, CTC, Cycle Campaign Network, Cycling Scotland, Cycling Time Trials, Forestry Commission, London Cycling Campaign, The National Byway, National TravelWise Association, Ordnance Survey, Sustrans, and Transport 2000.
