Polaris and CRC give their backing to today's Children in Need

Bike trade rallies to the call of Pudsey

The BBC’s Children in Need charity event – raising funds to make a difference to children in need across the UK – takes place today.

The bike trade is getting involved with the worthy cause, including Polaris. The brand is providing ‘One Show’ and ‘Countryfile’ presenter Matt Baker with his kit while he rides a rickshaw across the UK.

Baker’s is riding the testing Rickshaw Challenge ride from Castle Esplanade in Edinburgh to BBC TV Centre this evening (Friday November 18th).

Polaris MD Roger Dillon said: “BBC Children in Need is part of the fabric of this country, it shows just how generous the British Nation is and if we can do just a little to help Matt on his way by making him comfortable and visible on the road we are very proud to do so.”

CNP Professional has also been assisting Baker in his challenge too, helping him with various energy and muscle recovery performance products.

CNP’s GM Garry Medlock said: "It’s an amazing feat of endurance and determination. We are very proud that we can play some small part in such a wonderful charity as BBC Children in Need and we are all very proud of what Matt has achieved.”

Meanwhile, the staff of Chain Reaction are taking part in a 2,500 mile static cycle challenge, starting from the CRC HQ, and taking in the likes of Dublin, London, Paris, Roubaix, San Remo and Dorsten.

You can find out more about that here.

There’s a good chance there are more activities taking place in the shops, offices, workshops and warehouses of the trade. Why not tell us about them in the comments thread below…

And if you’ve got any pictures of your Pudsey-styled antics send them in to bikebiz@intentmedia.co.uk and we’ll put them on our Facebook page (which is here, by the way).
