Visitors to the Millennium Dome at Greenwich see more just the laughing brain of Tommy Cooper, a ceiling full of giant pubes, and a echoing Spirit Zone, they also see a wall full of bikes...

Bikes star in Dome

As well as visitors being encouraged to cycle to the Millennium Zone (driving and parking is a nightmare so there are river taxis, a new tube station and a multitude of cycle lanes) theres a nice little corner where a variety of bikes are featured. This is in alternatives to the car section of the Ford-sponsored transport zone.

A wide selection of two-wheelers are hung on the walls as example of how to get about without using the internal combustion engine. The bikes vary from a Brompton to a top-of-the-range Condor.

Colin Bath, manager of Condor Cycles of Grays Inn Road, London, was invited to the press and sponsor preview day at the Dome and was impressed with the coverage of cycling.

He would like a season ticket to the Dome so we can pump up the Condors tyres now and again. Well, thats his story.
