Trek's Bontrager shoes get the kiosk treatment thanks to cycling-specific eSoles

Bontrager shoes to get IBD-fitted insoles

Trek dealers will soon be equipped with custom shoe insole kiosks from eSoles Custom Footbeds.

The eSoles eFit footbed, which will be found in all Bontrager shoes, can be customised by the consumer using the eSoles self-guided 3D TruCapture Kiosk Scanning System that will identify specific customised inserts for an additional charge.

The kiosk uses a patented pneumatic air pillow to capture a 3D and 2D image of the foot. This digital image is then analysed against eSoles’ proprietary scientific algorithms to determine the optimal combination of eFit components (i.e., metatarsal pad, arch length and arch height) to build a customised footbed on-site. The process takes less than 5 minutes to complete.

ePro fully custom footbeds are shipped directly to consumer in five to seven days.

"With this partnership with Trek Bicycle Corporation we are thrilled to now provide our eFit semi-custom footbed for consumers on-site at retail locations," said Glen Hinshaw, CEO of eSoles.

"This is a great break-through for cycling comfort, injury reduction and improved performance."

Trek’s head of product development Joe Vadebocouer said:

"We are extremely impressed with the results eSoles can provide our cyclists. eSoles cycling footbeds are designed to stabilise and align the foot for greater power and less fatigue. Cyclists are going to be able to perform better and their feet, knees and back will be eternally grateful."
