Brompton World Championship final details announced

Folding bike specialists Brompton Bicycle has announced that the 12th Brompton World Championship final will take place on Saturday July 29th.

The event will feature as part of the Prudential RideLondon festival of cycling.

2017 will be the third time the Brompton World Championship final has been part of the Mayor of London’s cycling festival. Last year more than 450 riders from 24 difference countries took part in the race.

The 2017 Brompton World Championship final is open to all, with a limit of 575 open places. The entry system for the ballot is open now and can be accessed here.

CEO of Brompton Will Butler-Adams commented: “London takes back its city over the Ride London weekend, families crowd the streets, the air is fresh and sounds of happiness replace the drone of traffic.

“The highlight is the Brompton World Championships where the finest athletes are flown in from around the world and over 500 people race up The Mall to adoring crowds. The bikes are rapid, the start is Le Mans and there is no Lycra in sight! Cycling is for everyone; it brings freedom, fun and should reclaim its place in the city.”

Brompton will also host a large bike demonstration area, giving participants a chance to try a Brompton as part of the Prudential RideLondon Free-cycle.
