Alexandra Burke backs Breeze cycling initiative

VIDEO: Pop and former X Factor star lends her PR weight to British Cycling’s women-encouraging cycling efforts
Publish date:

Alexandra Burke has given her support to the Breeze campaign to boost numbers of females cycling.

The Breeze initiative, created by British Cycling, was founded in May this year as a National Lottery-funded nationwide network of bike rides. It aims to introduce more than 80,000 women to bike riding by running short, traffic-free rides.

Breeze was established as a means to address the huge disparity in the number of women who cycle, compared with men.

Breeze and British Cycling will be hoping Alexandra's Burke high profile among younger women will help broaden the appeal of the initiative. Burke also took part in Manchester's Skyride earlier in the year, where she was recorded backing Breeze (in the video below).
