Alpinebikes.com has gone live. The archives visible on the site are from the site's offline testing phase.

19-year old Alpine Bikes has seven bricks-and-mortar stores in Scotland.

Bryan Shedden, general manager of Alpinebikes, said: “It may have taken us a while to join the online marketplace, but it was imperative to us that our online offering was synonymous with our offline core values so customers have the same unique experience online as they do in any of our shops throughout Scotland."

The new site includes all the usual e-commerce bells and whistles but also has a blog-like 'staff rides' section, with staffers commenting on their favourite routes, from commutes to MTB forest parks.

Chris Ball, founder and coach at Dirt School, also has a skills section on the site. Alpine Bikes is the main sponsor of Dirt School.

Alpine Bikes, HQ'ed in Aberdeen, was acquired by the Tiso Group in 2006. The chain has an annual turnover of £3.5m.
