Seventh store in Scottish cycle retailer's chain opens to the public in Perth

Alpine Bikes opens in Tiso’s largest Outdoor Experience Store

Scotland’s Alpine Bikes has opened for business in one of Britain’s largest interactive outdoor stores in Perth at the start of the month.

Creating 35 local jobs and an integral part of the new £1 million Tiso store, this Alpine Bikes shop is the seventh in Scotland.

The new store is a key part of Tiso’s flagship Perth Outdoor Experience, which covers 20,000 sq ft and includes a 30ft climbing wall, departments catering for running, camping and water sports, and a Cafe and Playbugs softplay area.

CEO of Alpine Bikes and the Tiso Group Chris Tiso opened the store with explorer and adventurer Polly Murray.

Tiso said: “Perthshire offers some of the most diverse and exhilarating cycling in Scotland and it’s very exciting to open Alpine Bikes in the heart of Scotland. Our staff are experienced and know the area extremely well so can give the best advice on bikes, equipment and areas to explore.”

Alpine Bikes director Bryan Shedden added: “Alpine Bikes is proud to be opening in Perth with its largest concession store to date. The great range of products will cover all aspects of cycling from downhill frames to lights for cycling to work. Our experienced fully trained staff are keen to share their knowledge about cycling and local trails with our new customers.”

The Alpine Bikes store will cater for all cycle disciplines and features an in-store turbo trainer and workshop.

The Tiso store is the 20th in the Tiso Group’s real estate portfolio. Alpine Bikes was acquired by Tiso Group in 2006.
