Always Riding to cease retail operations

Always Riding will close its retail operations at the end of the year.

Having experienced increasing success in providing third-party fulfilment services to cycle brands throughout the past 12-18 months, the company will now focus all its efforts on this new venture.

The company stated, “After ten years of retailing some of the best brands in the cycling world, Always Riding has decided to take a different direction in the future and as such, we will be undergoing some changes from the end of 2018.”

The announcement went on to note that while the company remains “firmly of the view” that premium cycle retail has a strong future, the consumer demand for competitive pricing leaves Always Riding in a difficult position. “To be able to deliver such prices requires a level of scale that only the largest retailers can really deliver,” said the company.

Commenting on its evolving fulfilment services, Always Riding added: “Brands are looking for a consistently superb and value for money service of the highest quality in the management of their fulfilment logistics – characteristics which Always Riding has become well known for over the years.

“We are confident that the expertise we have gathered over a decade will be attractive to a significant group of small to medium-sized brands looking for the kind of responsive and attentive service we can provide.”

Over the next few months, Always Riding will be running sales and promotions to sell off its remaining stock.

“The growth in recreational cycling remains one of the true success stories of promoting healthy and active lifestyles over the last ten years,” the company stated. “We are confident that this growth will be maintained, and we look forward to being involved through our fulfilment and logistics activities.”

“For further information about the services we can offer to brands looking for a dynamic and cost-effective solution from a team with a deep understanding of the cycling retail market then please do get in touch at hello@alwaysriding.co.uk.”
