Guess is SuperCycles' own brand. The RB1 has been available as frame-only for nearly two years and was specced-up as a complete bike in December 2002.
The £499 RB1 (there's also a lighter RB2 and a Scandium/carbon model, the SC1). was reviewed by Cycling Plus late last year, pitched against bikes at £3500 and £1200, and was picked as the best on test.
"This created a demand and we have now sold in excess of a hundred since Christmas," said Mike Poyzer.
"Yet despite having almost 200 dealers for Onza we have failed to get them to stock Guess bikes. Consumers call and ask us for their nearest dealer and we tell them who to go to. The consumers usually come back to us because the dealer we put them on to is not prepared to get one in.
"We are quite happy to get all the extra pofit from a retail sale but I feel that dealers are losing out.
"Surely this is a way for shops who do not see themselves in this market, to break into it?"
