Bamboo Bikes has announced the appointment of its first London stockist – Crystal Palace based Blue Door Bicycles.
The bamboo mountain bike, designed and engineered by Oxford Brookes University, is BS EN certified and manufactured in Yorkshire. Further retail partners across the UK and Europe are now sought.
The May 26th launch will give those who attend an opportunity for test rides, with the launch event winding down at 1pm with pizza. The shop will be open as usual, giving the London public their first chance to see and ride the bikes in the flesh.
The hardtail frame is constructed using bamboo tubes and joined using hemp fibre, which has strength and flexibility to compliment the stiffness and durability of bamboo.
Rachel Hammond, Bamboo Bikes MD will be at the launch to answer questions on the manufacturing process, and performance of the frames. Hammond said: “We are so excited to be working with Blue Door Bicycles – we love their ethos, and feel it fits our brand extremely well. This is the first presence of our brand in London, and we will do all we can to support Blue Door with sales of our frames.”
Bamboo Bikes also now has its own XC Race Team – Team Bamboo Bikes, co-sponsored by Oxford Brookes University, Green Oil and Torq Fitness.
