After 20 year absence classic folders are back on UK shores

Bickerton Portables land with 2×2 Worldwide next week

The first batch of Bickerton Portable folding bikes for 20 years will land on UK shores early next week.

UK distributor 2X2 Worldwide will have stock of the top of the range Junction 1909 in brushed aluminium colour (£899) which has a selection of premium components, mudguards, Transport Bag and Brooks Champion
saddle.

The Junction 1707 Country in Red and Grey (£529) and the Junction 1707 City in Nickel colour (£649) are also arriving.

The entry level 20” Junction 1607 (£399) in Grey or Blue and the 26” Docklands in Blue (£579) will both arrive a couple of weeks later.

The folding label, which was first launched in 1971 by ex-Rolls Royce engineer Harry Bickerton, now also has partners currently in America, Europe and the Far East.

About 600,000 Bickerton bicycles were produced in the UK, USA and Australia during Bickerton’s first stint in manufacturing. These bikes pioneered many of the folding bike functions still in use today and include claims such as creating first aluminium folding bike, the first mono-tube folder, the offset bottom bracket, an extended seat post and importantly interlocking hinge abutments.
